About Ballotino

Ballotino is a Scandinavian fragrance brand created by the grandchildren of Ballotino Leonardo Vittorio Lorenze — a 19th-century perfumer. He crafted his scents in a small Alpine village, where his talent was known only among the locals. Even so, his handwritten formulas were carefully preserved within the family for generations.

For Lorenze, perfumery was about craftsmanship, nature, and curiosity. He experimented with everything from wild mountain herbs to more exotic notes brought to the village by travelling merchants. Although his fragrances never reached the wider world at the time, they were deeply appreciated in his local community — and it’s that same warmth, authenticity, and down-to-earth passion his grandchildren aim to carry forward.

Today, at Ballotino, we work from his original recipes, refining and rebuilding them using modern techniques and a Scandinavian sense of simplicity and aesthetics. Each fragrance is developed in small, meticulous processes where craftsmanship and quality remain at the centre — just as Lorenze intended.

Our first collection focuses on gourmand fragrances, offering deep and long-lasting extrait de parfums that both honour the family’s history and reflect the direction we are taking as a modern brand.

Ballotino is still a small family project, but our mission is clear: to continue our great-grandfather’s legacy and finally share with the world the scents that, for generations, existed only within a mountain village.
